At Em and El Doodles, our top priority is ensuring that all of our dogs live happy, fulfilling lives as cherished family members. While we aim to produce exceptional puppies and maintain the highest standards in our breeding program, we believe that every dog deserves the love and care of a dedicated family. To achieve this, we have introduced our Guardian Home Program.
Our Guardian Home Program allows us to expand our breeding program while ensuring that our breeding dogs are raised in loving, home environments. As a Guardian, you have the opportunity to welcome a top-quality puppy into your family at no upfront cost. While the dog is part of our program, we retain breeding rights, and you provide the loving home and daily care that every dog deserves.
How it works
As a Guardian Home, you receive a “pick of the litter” puppy, which becomes a permanent part of your family.
We cover all expenses related to health testing and breeding, while the Guardian Family is responsible for regular pet care, including feeding, grooming, and routine veterinary visits.
For females, breeding typically begins after they reach full maturity (usually around 2 years old) and ends after they have whelped 4 litters (around 4-5 years old). Males are bred on an as-needed basis and typically remain in the program longer.
During pregnancy, female dogs stay with their Guardian Family and return to us shortly before delivery. They remain in our care for approximately 6-8 weeks while raising their puppies and are then reunited with their Guardian Family.
Once the dog completes their breeding career, we cover the cost of spaying/neutering and transfer full ownership to the Guardian Family.
Requirements
To ensure the best experience for both our dogs and Guardian Homes, we have a few requirements:

Provide a safe, secure, and loving home environment, including a fenced yard.
Be flexible and able to transport the dog for health testing, breeding, and whelping.
Maintain grooming, training, and a healthy diet (PawTree) according to our guidelines.
Routine yearly veterinarian exams, yearly booster vaccines, rabies vaccines, Bordetella prevention, heartworm testing, etc.
Provide heartworm medication and flea and tick prevention.
Notify us of planned vacations or any extended period of time where you cannot fully care for the dog yourself. If we are available, you are required to have us watch the dog.

We view our Guardian Home Program as a mutually beneficial partnership. Guardian Families receive a beloved companion of the highest quality, while we have peace of mind knowing our breeding dogs are thriving in their forever homes.
